| Beating her isn't going to be enough. This bitch is Carthage. She must be destroyed.. The more we know about Christine O'Donnell, the more she makes our blood run cold. She is downright creepy along with the crazy. Doesn't anyone else get the feeling that she's just one Big O away from boiling a bunny?
Rove cowers as soon as Limbaugh barks As soon as Limbaugh thundered that he, not Rove or anyone else, would say who is "electable" and who is not, Rove backpeddled faster than a vampire backing away from sunshine.
More votes than voters in Shelby County Tennessee "Consultants examining the Aug. 5 Shelby County election found 3,221 more votes than voters on documents provided by Shelby County elections officials pursuant to a court order. ... Most voterless votes were found in large Republican precincts, a non-random distribution. ... The inspection team sought and obtained documents in connection with a lawsuit filed by ten defeated candidates over irregularities in the election. " Read the whole thing. We'll wait. Just take your anti-hypertensives first.
Air Force to change deployment calendars Starting the first of the year, all Air Force personnel who deploy will do so for 179 days. The 120 day deployments that made USAF deployments the envy of the entire military are gone, and won't be back.
Carla Bruni prefers her milk in a saucer Yeah, yeah, an aging Italian former supermodel is catty and hateful about our First Lady in a book she claims to have co-written. Whatevs. Pretty sure anyone who was paying attention to her stopped when she started looking better with her clothes on than she does with them off.
That devastating poverty rate everyone is talking about? Yeah, it would have been a hell of a lot worse without the stimulus funds that kept the economy from descending into a depression.
Imagine that! O'Donnell won't debate unless she gets the questions in advance! Good lord, our politics is broken.
Uh, guys...the time to talk tough was before China had us by a few trillion of our short hairs, not after "Senators from both parties expressed impatience with the Obama administration's reliance on persuasion and negotiation, saying such tactics had yielded few gains so far. ... "There is no question that the economic and trade policies of China represent clear roadblocks to our recovery," Senator Christopher J. Dodd, Democrat of Connecticut and the chairman of the Banking Committee, said at a hearing with Mr. Geithner seated before him. ... "I've listened to every administration, Democrats and Republicans, from Ronald Reagan to the current administration, say virtually the same thing," Mr. Dodd, who is not seeking re-election, said. "And China does basically whatever it wants, while we grow weaker and they grow stronger." ... He added: "It's clearly time for a change in strategy.""
Somebody's lying, and we're betting it's Carla's sugar daddy. "France and Germany are embroiled in a diplomatic row after German Chancellor Angela Merkel flatly contradicted President Nicolas Sarkozy on the issue of Roma camps. The issue of Roma (Gypsy) deportations from France has dominated an EU summit. Mr Sarkozy told a news conference that Chancellor Merkel had said to him that she intended to follow France's example in dismantling Roma camps. Mrs Merkel's spokesman denied she had discussed the issue with Mr Sarkozy."

If the punishment for politics is exile and execution, it's not a democracy. "An exiled Pakistani politician has been murdered outside his home in north London, party leaders have said. Imran Farooq, a senior member of the MQM party, is believed to have been attacked in Green Lane, Edgware. The Metropolitan Police said a 50-year-old man had died after suffering multiple stab wounds and head injuries."
Good news, maybe. "Ice floating on the Arctic Ocean melted unusually quickly this year, but did not shrink down to the record minimum area seen in 2007. That is the preliminary finding of US scientists who say the summer minimum seems to have passed and the ice has entered its winter growth phase. 2010's summer Arctic ice minimum is the third smallest in the satellite era. Researchers say projections of summer ice disappearing entirely within the next few years increasingly look wrong."
One massacring motherfucker down, hundreds to go. Now extradite his ass to face his victims. A former Guatemalan soldier has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in the United States for concealing his part in a massacre during Guatemala's civil war when he applied for US citizenship. Gilberto Jordan failed to reveal his participation in the 1982 killings of at least 162 villagers at Dos Erres. Jordan admitted throwing a baby down a well during a raid on the village by his elite military unit. Campaigners in Guatemala want him sent home for trial. Prosecutors said they were pleased Gilberto Jordan, 54, was given the maximum sentence possible."
No, we don't think the name is a coincidence, either. "Tropical Storm Karl has been upgraded to a hurricane having gathered strength as it passes over the Gulf of Mexico. The US National Hurricane Center (NHC) says Karl is currently a Category One hurricane, but could strengthen more. Before moving into the Gulf, Karl made landfall in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, where it downed trees and left about 10,000 homes without electricity. Out in the Atlantic two more hurricanes are churning, including a powerful Category Four storm, Hurricane Igor."
Not "unfortunate" - a fucking crime. "An extremely rare animal known as the "Asian unicorn" - in spite of having two horns - has been caught by villagers in Laos. No biologist has ever reported seeing the rare Saola in the wild and there are none of them in captivity. The animal was discovered in the forests of South-East Asia as recently as 1992. There have only been a few photos of the Saola taken so far, by villagers and automatic camera traps. The Saola - Pseudoryx nghetinhensis - is believed to inhabit the Annamite Mountains of Laos and Vietnam, and that is where villagers from Laos' central province of Bolikhamxay caught the unfortunate adult male earlier this August. They brought the mammal back to the village. Surprised by the odd-looking animal, the villagers took a few photos and notified the Lao authorities. But by the time a team from the Bolikhamxay Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Office reached the remote location, the Saola was dead. "The death of this Saola is unfortunate," said a spokesperson of the provincial conservation unit of Bolikhamxay province. "But at least it confirms an area where it still occurs and the government will immediately move to strengthen conservation efforts there." "
Never. Get. Out. Of. The. Boat. "Body parts which were found inside a shark appear to belong to a man who disappeared off a Bahamas beach where one of the Jaws movies was filmed. ... Police say fingerprints match those of Judson Newton, who swam for shore after his boat broke down in August. ... The 43-year-old had been out boating with friends off New Providence Island on 29 August when their boat stalled. He and one other friend decided to swim to land to find help, but neither were seen again. ... The three other men were found aboard the boat by a rescue crew."
You have to admit, it would be a hell of a task "According to sources at Milford Mill High School's 30-year reunion, alumnus Ira Glass spent most of Saturday's event laboring to explain his public radio program, This American Life, to former classmates. "I'm still not completely sure, but I think he has some sort of call-in show," said Glass' sophomore biology lab partner Shannon Fortin, who reported that Glass just sighed when asked if he could say Fortin's name on the air during his next broadcast. "Sounds like he almost caught a break with some TV show, but I guess they canceled it. Poor guy." After Glass left the reunion early, a number of sympathetic attendees took up a collection for their old acquaintance, as Glass had mentioned that he relied almost entirely on donations."
And finally...
