This blog is written by a couple of liberal patriots who aren't quite as pissed off as they were a couple of years ago, but aren't taking anything for granted, either. We share a fierce dedication to the Constitution - the only words ever put to paper worth dying for, and we'll argue it's finer liberal points with anyone.

We exist to remind y'all that America was founded on four boxes:
  • The Soapbox
  • The Ballot Box
  • The Jury Box
  • The Ammo Box
They should be used in that order. This is our soapbox.

Is Harassment In The Name Of Jesus Still Harassment?

Came across a link to the Repent Amarillo site on LT Saloon which shows how far the descent into religious zealotry has gone in North Texas.  The Xtian soldiers are now openly adopting military symbolism and tactics, including "undercover operations" in their attempt to rid the country of... well... anyone not just like them.  It's been termed a Christian Taliban by some and that certainly works for me.

Why is it that so many right wing religious types are totally unable to accept the fact that freedom OF religion must necessarily entail freedom FROM religion also?

According to their "Mission Statement" their goals will be accomplished by two internal groups.  First we have their "Special Ops" unit:  (All emphasis added)

1. Intercessory prayer group. This group will be a group of warriors called to intercessory prayer. They will at times be visible to the public and at other times ( depending upon the individual mission) they will be inconspicuous. They will provide prayer covering to the soldier group and will do battle within the spiritual realm to prepare the ground for the planting of God's seeds, tear down demonic strongholds, and cast out demonic spirits that harass our efforts. Sometimes the intercessory prayer group will operate independently of the soldier group and at other times will work around them.

Then we have the the enlisted types, the grunts.

2. The Soldier group. The soldier group will consist of warriors dedicated to witnessing to groups of unbelievers or one-on-one witnessing. This group will be more visible to the public and will be comprised of bold believers willing to confront the world. This group will be schooled in the "Way of the Master" method of witnessing to the lost. This group will be the ones who plant God's seeds in the ground that has been prepared by the intercessory prayer group. Believers who participate in this group will have to be bold but loving. Confrontational but composed. The individual members of these two groups are allowed and highly encouraged to move between the two groups based on the individual's calling and the unique mission involved. In other words, no one is stuck to only one group. Soldiers can pray and intercessory members can witness.

Tom B :: Is Harassment In The Name Of Jesus Still Harassment?
Targets for the two groups:

Some of the possible missions that these two groups may be called upon to work will be some of the following:

    1. Gay pride events.

   2. Earth worship events such as "Earth Day"

   3. Pro-abortion events or places such as Planned Parenthood

   4. Breast cancer events such as "Race for the Cure" to illuminate the  link between abortion and breast cancer.

   5. Opening day of public schools to reach out to students.

   6. Spring break events.

   7. Demonically based concerts.

   8. Halloween events.

   9. Other events that may arise that the ministry feels called to confront.

These large events may involve both the intercessory prayer AND the soldier groups. Some of the smaller events that can be accomplished in between the larger events may be:

Others:

   1. Sexually oriented businesses such as pornography shops, strip joints, and XXX-rated theaters.

   2. Idolatry locations such as palm readers, false religions, and witchcraft. Many of the smaller missions listed above may be just prayer oriented missions for tearing down demonic strongholds or they may involve more aggressive use of soldiers and prayer warriors.

Some other missions occasionally employed may be "undercover operations" where the groups show up together but are not publicly visible together to effect the outcome of a public meeting such as city commissioners meetings, etc.

Their "soldiers creed" as decreed by cult master Pastor David H. Grisham

A soldier for Christ fights a spiritual battle. The enemy is not our fellow man but the principalities, the powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world (Ephesians 6:12). Our mission is to do battle with the lies of the enemy. To do battle with the corruption of this world. We do this by personal evangelism, one heart at a time. The first century church went out into the streets and house to house being personal witnesses for Christ. This we do as well. The Christian soldier has three weapons in his arsenal, prayer, praise and worship, and the Word of God. The Christian soldier must have the courage to stand where others will not and to go where others fear to tread. If God the Father regarded every person's value as to be worth sending His only begotten Son to die for then why do so many Christians think that some are not worth preaching to? Regardless of the risk, regardless of the cost, regardless of the place, Christians are called to preach the Gospel to every creature. There is no excuse for cowardice in the face of the enemy. Jesus Christ was faithful unto death, obedient unto death and so shall we. The costs of cowardice and apathy are far too high. A soldier for Christ wants to leave no man behind. We will fight unto death for the cause of eternal life through Christ Jesus. We will wage a good spiritual warfare untill {sp} our King calls us home. May we leave this earth desperately clinging to one more lost soul.

I'm not sure what I would do if if I was confronted with one of their "soldiers" who was prepared to "fight unto death" if only he could depart this mortal coil dragging "one more lost soul" along with him but I'm pretty damned sure any effort on my part would be aimed at seeing that he made his trip alone.

They call themselves "army of god". Translate that into Arabic, and you've got "Hezbollah".

FUnny how that works.
